Simon Bridge Returns to Move the Page to the Stage

Friday 15 Mar 2019

On Tuesday, Simon led two sessions: firstly, with the Upper Sixth A Level English Literature students, helping them tap into the rhythms of iambic pentameter through ‘haka’ like warm-up exercises and delivering a fascinating mini-lecture on how the theatre business shaped ‘Othello’.

Later in the morning, Simon worked with the whole of Year 10, giving them their introduction to ‘Romeo and Juliet’ through guided interpretations of lines at the Capulet party before getting the students moving about and recreating lines from the Balcony scene.

We are hugely grateful to Simon for coming in and both Simon and the English department were delighted with the whole-hearted and enthusiastic response from our students.
