‘Parental investment in Early Years education could have the most significant influence on ultimate academic attainment” a recent UCL study has found.
At Framlingham College we recognise that the Early Years is the vital first phase of a child’s education and the experiences they have in these years do influence the rest of their learning journey.
Young children’s brains are designed to explore and discover the world around them. When children learn through play, they are exploring, discovering, learning how things work, learning to communicate and using their growing knowledge about the world around them to continue to learn, grow and develop. Children who feel safe, secure and nurtured in these early years will be able to relax and become absorbed in their exploration and play. This feeds their curiosity, ignites their love of learning, encourages independence and develops communication skills.
This September sees the launch of Framlingham College Early Years in a brand new purpose-built setting with extended hours from 7:45am to 6pm to support working parents.
The new facility is set in the heart of the Prep School with direct access to 25 acres of beautiful grounds and woodland where our EXPLORERS (aged 3-4) and DISCOVERERS (aged 4-5) have the opportunity to aspire, create, explore and discover under the guidance of highly-trained, experienced and specialist staff.
Every pupil will be fully integrated into Prep School life; allocated into a house, given a Year 6 buddy and served a hot nutritious lunch in the main dining room alongside the Pre-Prep pupils.
Our Early Years’ pupils will also benefit from experienced specialised teachers in French, Music and PE and have access to the Art and Design Centre, Dance Studio and Music department to ensure that creativity is at the heart of our curriculum. The DISCOVERERS will also have a free swimming lesson once a week.
We take providing high quality care, teaching and learning very seriously. Class sizes will be deliberately small and our experienced Early Years team will be there every step of the journey to support you and your child, planning a path for each individual that directs them to the next exciting and challenging step on their learning adventure.
