Johann Myburgh announced as new Cricket Professional

Friday 16 Sep 2016

We are delighted to announce the arrival of Johann Myburgh as Cricket Professional at Framlingham College.

Johann currently plays for Somerset CCC and will join us after the end of the cricket season. As a 17 year-old schoolboy Johann broke Graeme Pollock’s record to become the youngest double-centurion in South African first-class cricket, but after representing South Africa at under-19 level he, like many of his fellow countrymen, left the country to pursue a professional cricket career abroad (he has also played for Durham and Hampshire in the UK, Canterbury in New Zealand, and Titans and Northerns in South Africa).

Johann’s arrival confirms the College’s position as a centre of sporting excellence in the region…
Paul Taylor – Headmaster, Framlingham College

Johann is also an outstanding rugby player and a qualified golf coach and he will also be coaching these two sports at the school.

Headmaster Paul Taylor says “Johann’s arrival confirms the College’s position as a centre of sporting excellence in the region and we look forward to him working with pupils at both our Prep School and the College”.
