Golf Goes From Strength to Strength

Tuesday 25 Jun 2019

It has been a successful week for our golfers who have taken part in Suffolk Schools and ISGA events. In the North/South Suffolk Schools’ Championships at Ufford Park Golf Club last Tuesday, the team of Eddie Darley, Henry Moore and James Cowell won the team event while Henry was 1st individually and James was second.

In the ISGA Plate Finals (Stableford) at Collingtree Park Golf Club on Sunday, the team of Fraser Johnson, Callum Pearce and George Jackson finished in 4th place overall with Callum leading the way with 38 points. The team then transferred to the Forest of Arden Golf Club for the HG Trophy (Strokeplay) yesterday where they were joined by James Cowell, Jonty Lecompte and Max Day. Again the young tyros were to the fore and Fraser Johnson won the U15 Net Trophy with a score of 71.

The team of Johnson, Pearce and Jackson finished 6th out of 30 teams in an impressive field.

The teams competed under the watchful eye of Professional Neil Jackson and the sport continues to go from strength to strength across both junior and senior schools.
