Wednesday 27 Sep 2017

The U16 team put on a stunning display at the County Championships this week winning four matches out of four scoring 18 goals without conceding. The evening began with a 4-0 win against Ipswich High School, goals coming from Megan Jackson, Sarah Grinyer and a superb finish from Poppy Mayall, who spun onto her forehand and smashed the ball into the roof of the net. The next game against Ipswich School was to be the stand out performance. The team pressed well and managed to steal possession and counter attack at pace. Hettie Meadows scored a superb hat-trick and Poppy Mayall smashed another powerful shot to complete a 4-0 win. The final two matches saw the goal scoring continuing with a 4-0 win against St Joseph’s and 6-0 win against Culford. The team head onto the regional qualifying tournament with high hopes of making the Finals day in late November.
