From Year 3 to Year 13, children have a timetabled session three times a week when they can try out an activity and discover where their strengths and interests may lie.
It might be drama or ballet, football or gardening, fencing or cooking, ukulele group or learning mandarin – or one of many other skills-based pastimes.
We call these sessions “Learning for Life”, since we know that the children will pick up skills that stand them in good stead throughout their education, and beyond.
Because children join us at the youngest age we never underestimate the breadth and power of their innate creativity. As they grow, our aim is to give them as many different ways as possible to express themselves. The art and design centre pulsates with industry as manual skills are honed and ideas are energetically brought to life. We approach the creative subjects with no lack of rigour and high expectations are regularly surpassed by the ingenuity of fearless young minds.
All of our children join choirs, most play an instrument and all feel included by a music department that respects diversity and encourages a real passion for performing. In the classroom and on the sports field too we want our children to play and learn with imagination and flair and to challenge themselves, surprise themselves and to constantly grow.
Each individual who joins our school is unprecedented and full of promise. Our aim at Framlingham is to provide a bespoke education that allows them to craft their own unique stories and make their own special mark upon the world.
