Academic Scholars’ Lecture Series gets off to a Flying Start

Wednesday 18 Sep 2019

By: Leo Goldsmith.

Dr Ra Mason delivered a fascinating talk on China’s place in current global politics and economics.

Members of Framlingham College’s Academic Scholars’ Programme were fortunate enough to hear Dr Ra Mason (University of East Anglia) speak on the subject of ‘Should we fear China?’. Dr Mason, an expert in Japanese and Chinese international relations, delivered a pithy and balanced talk which was followed up by our scholars working on small groups and then presenting back to the whole audience. Dr Mason was really impressed with the confidence and focus of our students and some brilliant sustained contributions were made by students from Year 9 to Year 13. All in all, it was an excellent, thought-provoking and challenging start to our new, ongoing, lecture/seminar programme.
